My will be done
Meaning: Choosing God is what Thy will be done means. We believe that we have the difficult task of deciding between good and evil, right and wrong, what is best considering all our options. The only choice we have to make is to choose God.
When we say “thy will be done”, we stop deciding for ourselves. As God said “it’s a no-brainer”, meaning we stop thinking for ourselves and for others, we let God do this for us. We no longer decide what is good or evil, what is best, what is right or wrong, what we should, or shouldn’t do… in every situation, no matter how small, we entrust everything to God. For as long as we are desire to make any kind of decision on our own, we have not chosen God.
“Thy will be done” is to choose the “tree of life”, who is God, over the “tree of good and evil”. To choose God is to choose Him to be our self, our life and our world.
God’s will is beyond what is good or evil, what is right or wrong, it is even beyond what is best... God’s will is about what is perfect. This is what makes Heaven, Heaven. For in Heaven, it is always God’s will that is done.
As stated earlier, the will of God is one: For all of creation to be one in Me. So, for us, the statement “thy will be done” is the acceptance of God’s offer of salvation – to return to our complete union with Him It is a complete and total abandonment of one’s control over one’s self, others and life in general. It is turning over everything to God - not just a situation, a particular segment of our life or a part of our self –so He can do what needs to be done in order for His will to be accomplished – to live in Heaven as ONE.
This is where people make a mistake because they tell God “thy will be done” but it is situational. We ask God what His will is for a slice of our life – whatever we think needs fixing. We pray for discernment for a particular question. In short, we put boundaries on where, when and how we want God to be involved.
